Antique Chinese influenced porcelain tea caddy in an rectangular form with a foliate finial of a grape on vine.

Very RARE to have the cover as these are usually lost or broken. The front and back panels are decorated with figurative scenes and landscapes but the main subject seems to be insects and bugs. The item is hand painted and the talent of the artist is quite profound in realism of the insects. It was made in Europe in the late 19th century.

The measurements are 1.50" deep by 2.40" Wide by 4.00" High.

It is in excellent condition for it's age with a few bumpy rigdets to the base of the cover, that we supposed occured through removing the cover over the years to get at the sweet nectar we call tea. We cannot distinguish the maker’s mark (see photos) but it seems to be one of the many Meissen maker’s mark also because of the subject matter and the period that they did this subject. These are always done by hand and can vary in look.
