Wonderful decorative and heavy cast brass of two African Mali Dogon horse riders. The horse and warriors are in the style of the Dogon tribe with very modern tribal elongated form.
The beautiful horseman sculpture is made of cast-alloy (brass/bronze) and has an almost green patina. The elegant and long-legged horse wears a bridle, a protective amulet around his neck. The passenger is holding what seems to be their daily catch of a small crocodile.
Measures: Height 7” inches x width 9.50 inches The tribal horse sculpture was produced using the traditional 'lost wax' process. Lost wax method is the process by which a bronze or brass is cast.
